Physalis freeze-dried

The freeze-dried physalis with extra crunch are a very special, flavourful and uncomplicated snack.

The physalis from the company’s own cultivation are harvested when ripe and are first deep-frozen to remove the moisture while frozen. This takes place in a vacuum chamber with negative pressure, whereby the water evaporates without becoming liquid.

This process makes it possible to perfectly preserve the cell structure and therefore the colour and shape of the fruit, to intensify the flavour and not to lose the valuable vitamins and nutrients. Freeze-drying is one of the gentlest drying processes in general.

This process was originally developedspecifically for NASA’s Mercury Mission.

Some facts:

To produce 500 g of freeze-dried fruit, you need more than 5 kg of fruit.

The flavour is very intense, more so than fresh fruit, as the dehydration intensifies the flavour.

They are eaten in every conceivable way: as a snack, instead of sweets, not just for children, in muesli every morning, as a pep-up in a glass of prosecco, champagne or white wine and so much more besides

There are virtually no limits to the imagination. Of course, they are always a practical snack when time is of the essence: simply snack on the go, in between meals and during sport. Freeze-dried strawberries are also perfect in muesli and yoghurt. They are also an excellent addition to homemade granola or muesli bars as well as all teas. They are also unbeatable as a topping for waffles, pancakes and the like with vanilla sauce, honey or maple syrup. If there is still some powder left in the jar at the end, you can mix it into cake creams to give them a nice colour and extra flavour.
